I've decided that publishing this is better late than never... whoops.

Yikes, it's been a long time since I've done 7QT! That's because Fridays, I work in the chapel office for 5 1/2 hours, and then immediately start prepping for the conference that starts Friday afternoon! It makes for a difficult time blogging and a sad Allison who can't write as often. Oh well!!

I recently finished reading The Great Gatsby. It took me a lot longer than normal, mainly because I didn't particularly like it. I know this will come as a shock to some of you who claim it as "one of your favorite books ever" or "one of the seven books that I would save if all other books on earth were to be destroyed". But alas, I didn't find it particularly fantastic. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to seeing the movie, even though some of my friends who loved the book hated the movie. Maybe it works backwards- love one, hate the other.

I also just finished reading Rapunzel Let Down by Regina Doman. If you're not familiar with Regina's books yet, you should be! She's a phenomenal author (who graduated from Franciscan!). Her main series, the Fairy Tale Novels, are based on traditional fairy tales and set in modern times.
THIS BOOK IS FANTASTIC!
Regina recommends Rapunzel Let Down for ages 18+, so be aware of that before you read it yourself!

Yesterday wrapped up the Youth conferences for the summer. It was definitely bittersweet. I loved working youth conferences- they had such an enthusiasm for everything and made me think "Why is this something that I'm doing? Why am I excited about this, myself?" Because I think it's easy for me to get into a thinking rut when I'm working so closely with the Mass, adoration, and confession. But that's a blog post in and of itself, for another day :)

When you have a decent chunk of time, please read about Free the Word, written by Brandon Vogt on his blog. Honestly, I was very surprised to find out everything he shared, and as somewhat of a media fanatic, it makes me incredibly sad to think that the Church isn't doing all She could to spread the gospel. (Ha, now I've peaked your interest: GO READ!!)

My internet has been acting funnily lately, which means that Hulu isn't running at full speed (for those of you unaware of Hulu, it's a website that legally posts full episodes of lots and lots of TV shows.) When I don't have the ability to watch HGTV Star or Kitchen Nightmares on Hulu, I head to Doctor Who, which my brother-in-law kindly gave me. Wow, the British really do know how to do good drama!

And last but most definitely not least, I have a new nephew!! He was born 2 days before I got home, and I was able to meet him while I was there. He's small and cute and has red hair, so of course that was even more exciting to find out :)
