I know, I know, it's a Friday series and yet today is Monday..... just roll with it.

It's my day off!! As much as I love my job, having a day off is such a relief sometimes! This means that I get to 1) sleep past 7:30; 2) clean my room; 3) catch up on blog reading and writing! 4) read a book; 5) watch more Doctor Who (or, if the internet decides to be nice, The Next Food Network Star!)

Saturday marked the 1-year anniversary of the passing away of Andrew Moore, the Crossroads walker who was struck by a car while walking. I never met Andrew, but Saturday was still rough.
I remember July 20, 2012 like it was yesterday. It was a Friday, our last day of walking, and we wanted to get at least 35 miles in. But after Mass, John told us we were going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. We were confused and a little upset - this would put us behind schedule for the day. As we drove to the next weekend stop (I was on night shift that week), Josh pulled over and told us that Andrew had been killed. We were shocked, to say the least, and after praying a rosary for his soul, we just sat in silence. It could have been me.
We stayed at a nursing home run by the Little Sisters of the Poor that weekend, and had a good deal of quality time together. The rest of the summer was powerful- we had yet another reason to finish walking: to finish what Andrew was stopped from finishing.
If you think of it today, say a prayer for Andrew, his family, and all the walkers out there right now. It takes a lot to keep going.

1 week 'til the conferences are over for the summer. Wow. This summer seriously flew.
So we finish next Sunday, and Monday we take a Conference Staff trip to Cedar Point! I am not a roller coaster fan, and neither are two other girls on committee, so we've decided we'll be "boring" and go into every little store and spend time at the beach on the lake. Sounds good to me!

A day or two after I get home, we're going up to Massachusetts to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins, and my many great-aunts and uncles. I haven't seen any of them in almost 3 years, since my grandma's funeral. And since it was a funeral, and it was September (during my senior year of HS) there wasn't a ton of time to be with people. I am really looking forward to seeing my relatives again, especially my aunt, uncle, and cousins.
(speaking of my cousins, check out my middle cousin's blog HERE!)

I have an ongoing obsession for a capella and instrumental music. Any suggestions?? I'm always looking for new people/groups!

This week, construction in our house is finally wrapping up! While I haven't been home for the majority of the work, I know my parents will be very relieved to have their house back to themselves and to be able to put things where they belong! Although, I have heard that my mom is a fan of the plastic-wrap-like material that has covered our stairs and upstairs hallway for the last 5 months... apparently it keeps the carpet nice and clean.

I cannot begin to express how excited I am to eat something other than flatbread paninis, flatbread pizzas, flatbread quesadillas, or flatbread "bowls" for breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. They aren't bad, but seriously, I need a little variation!!

Have a beautiful week, everyone!
