1) I found out that my air conditioner isn't reliable. I was warm, so I set it at 74. In 2 minutes, the AC was running. 10 minutes later, I walked over near the AC and noticed warm air coming out. So I set the AC to 70. 3 minutes later, I was freezing. I turned it back up 2 degrees, and soon, my room was humid and sticky. Really?!?
2) I received a box of chocolate-covered fruit in the mail from 2 really great friends. I went upstairs to put the box in the refrigerator, but alas, it was full. So I brought the box back to my room and decided that preserving the delicious chocolate was significantly more important than my comfort. My room then became a large refrigerator (65 degrees for 3 days, woot!) Was it worth it? Heck yeah! (And thanks agian, you two!)
3) Last night, I arrived back in my room at 12:30 a.m. after a long day of work and when I closed the door, I noticed a blue sticky note on the back. I looked at it, and couldn't decipher what it said- just a bunch of letters and numbers. Slightly concerned/worried about who had been in my room, I proceeded to look under my bed, in my closet, in the drawer in my desk (which is about 2" deep...) At this point, I was way too tired to even care anymore, I went to brush my teeth. My curling iron was out of place and I just thought, "Some person broke into my room, used the curling iron, didn't bother to take the computer, and left. What a pathetic break-in!" Then I remembered.... The toilet in my room has been broken for over a week.... SO much fun! Honestly, I kind of forgot that it even exists in my room, 'cause I'm so used to not using it. They had finally come in to fix if for me!
4) I found out that I do better than double time walking up the hill to school each day. Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to GoogleMap the walk from my door to the chapel where I go each day. It's a little more than .4 miles, and is supposed to take 11 minutes to walk. I have timed myself each day for over a week, and it consistently takes 4 1/2 -5 minutes. I'll take it!
I apologize for the randomness of this post... this is what you get in the middle of a high school conference!!
Pray for all of us, that we may minister to the teens effectively and that they will be blessed during their time here!
