As I spoke with many of my friends at various points throughout the last week of winter break, I was struck at how beautiful relationships are. How wonderful that we have these opportunities to allow others little glimpses into our lives.
Can you imagine life without your friends? I know I can’t … I’m attempting to envision a world where I didn’t have peers who built me up, encouraged me, prayed for me, and listened to me talk when I just needed another opinion on some silly little thing. Such a world seems absolutely dismal.
One of the hardest parts of friendship is choosing to surround yourself with those people who will help you grow. I’ve definitely had points in my life where I’ve had to let a friendship go because it was simply tearing me down. Ultimately, it was my recognition of my own weakness that caused some friendships to end.
How miraculous that our lives were brought together. I cannot imagine life without these people who allow me to share my words with them, and who, in turn, trust me with their words and allow me to enter into their lives.
And these are those friendships that I know I must keep close to my heart, that I’ve been given because God knows all too well that I can’t make this journey towards heaven on my own.
