Oh friends. Friends, friends, friends.
It's been way too long, and for that I apologize. While I haven't been blogging, I have been thinking, praying, and changing, going on retreat, having dinner with Salasian sisters, writing lesson plans, and most importantly, growing. My break from my blog has given me a clearer mind and helped me to live in the present moment. (The break as also meant that I've had large assignments due, and because of that, I am lacking in the sleep department. Therefore, this post will not be formatted as usual, and I may not edibecause that would take away 5 minutes of sleep. Oh dear.)

Midterms are over, and we're all breathing a sigh of relief. I have realized that the warning of Junior year being the hardest has been true so far.... long hours in the library and camped out in Grace's room have become a weekly reality.

I'm starting countdowns: In 13 days I'll be on a bus to Notre Dame for fall break. In 38 days my hair will be shorter. In 39 days I get to see my nieces and nephews. Praise God!

Speaking of the children... Today before Mass, I was hit with the fact that by Thanksgiving, it will have been 3 months since I saw my nieces and nephews. I had an intense feeling of "oh my goodness, I'm missing out on their lives!" and got very discouraged. As the first reading was being read, this mom with a baby and a little girl walked to the front of our pew (I was sitting in the front), and sat on the floor. We moved over to make room for her little girl, and the woman sat on the other side of the aisle. Well, this was one of the most well-behaved children I've ever seen, especially as she sat next to a stranger for Mass. She was enthralled with music ministry, who were right in front of us, and kept pointing out the priests to me. Later, she refused to re-join her mother across the aisle, and insisted on holding my hand up to Communion.
This precious little girl, I think, was God's little gift to me; a reminder that's He's up in Heaven, listening to the desires and cries of my heart and wanted to fulfill each and every single one of them. And if today's answer comes in the form of a little girl in a pink striped sweater sitting next to me at Mass, well, I'll take it.
