Time and Place... 8:40 am, my room at home (for the last time in a while...)
What I can hear... Give Me Everything by Matt Hylom. I've had this one on repeat all summer; it's beautiful.

This past week... I chaperoned a youth group adventure camp in Maryland. It was difficult but also really good; I was surprised how relevant it was to me and not just to the teens I was there with. And it gave me lots to write about (but what else is new- everything gives me lots to write about) - that'll be coming in the near future.
I've been reading... Absolutely nothing. It's despicable, really. This week, though, I'm hoping to finish books 5-7 of Harry Potter.
Recent realization... The importance of speaking to others about the difficulties I'm going through.

I'm oh-so-grateful for... the simplicity of finding Jesus on the side table in the guest room at a camp. Sitting on the floor in that guest room, for an hour at a time, with the other college interns and chaperones, having our own private prayer time, but being united in prayer. Next week... I head back to Steubenville tomorrow and begin my job as Student Head of Liturgy on Tuesday. Yikes. It's getting real. I'll be living with a friend for a week before moving into my dorm room for senior year. aaaahhhhh. |
I'm looking forward to... attending Mass at school again. Perhaps its because I'm not far enough in my spiritual life yet, but Mass at school proves to me that the Church is alive. It's uplifting and powerful to worship with other people who put their hearts into the liturgy.
